General Summary:
Reporting to the VP of Digital Product & Innovation, the Human Centered Design Intern will join and work alongside our growing design team.
As the Human Centered Design Intern, you will be responsible for conducting several human centered design thinking projects with our customers and internal workforce focused on discrete components of the insurance and claims lifecycle. You will conduct valuable customer research and work with business architects to document the customer journey and be empathetic with the customer’s digital and real-world challenges as they navigate the workers compensation lifecycle. You will assemble and present your findings and continue onward with product managers to conceive and propose transformational business process and innovative digital product solutions. Then working with your design colleagues, you will co-develop working design proof of concepts in Figma and/or Zeplin and co-lead the experimentation, testing and refinement of the various options. Finally, you will work with both product and engineering in the storyboard mapping and eventual digital product and/or workflow process improvement plans and implementation. You will use all the knowledge you have gained in the academic environment and learn so much more in the practical application of this knowledge to solve real world customer challenges for a public company with hundreds of thousands of clients.
