Company Overview: Ai Forge is a life-changing 12-week in person artificial intelligence incubator that takes early stage start-ups to the next level in their business journey, currently we are seeking a Digital Design intern for our growing team in Miami. Ideally, this is an intern-to-full-time hire role.
Job Summary: As a Graphic Designer intern at our AI incubator, you will work closely with the Head of Design to support and assist in all graphic design requirements. Your primary responsibility will be to create visually appealing assets such as user journey maps, wireframes, mock-ups, and other design elements to improve the usability of startups going through the incubator's MVPs. You will play a crucial role in enhancing user experience and incorporating UX best practices into the products developed by our incubated startups. Additionally, you will contribute to general business tasks, fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head of Design to create user journey maps, wireframes, mock-ups, and other visual assets to enhance the usability of startups' minimum viable products (MVPs).
- Develop and design user-friendly interfaces and user flows that align with UX best practices and the startups' target audiences.
- Utilize graphic design software, including Figma/Sketch, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Keynote, and PowerPoint, to produce high-quality visual assets.
- Work closely with startup teams to understand their design requirements and translate them into visually compelling solutions.
- Continuously explore and evaluate UX best practices, incorporating them into the design process and providing recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate across the company's various departments and offices to ensure design consistency and alignment with overall objectives.
- Participate in design critiques and provide constructive feedback to improve design concepts and iterations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging design tools, and techniques to enhance design capabilities and contribute to the innovation within the incubator.
- Assist with general business tasks as needed, such as contributing to branding efforts, creating marketing materials, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree or pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field. Relevant certifications or advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven experience as a graphic designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of design projects.
- Proficiency in graphic design software, including Figma/Sketch, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Keynote, and PowerPoint.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and experience designing for digital platforms.
- Strong conceptualization and visual communication skills, with the ability to transform ideas into compelling visual representations.
- Knowledge of UX best practices and the ability to incorporate them into design solutions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics, typography, and color.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative and proactive mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with AI and emerging technologies is a plus.
Bonus point: Motion graphics & video editing skills would be a huge PLUS!
