At Applause, our UX ResearchOps Coordinator plays an integral and collaborative role in supporting qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methodology research initiatives across a wide range of industries and product areas.
Basic Terms:.
- Role: UX ResearchOps Coordinator
- Type: Freelancer - Independent Contractor (1099)
- Location: US-based remote
- Capacity: Variable, project-based hours with availability during local 8am-5pm local time, flexibility for occasional after-hours work as needed
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Work closely with researchers to understand products, study goals, participant recruitment criteria, study logistics, technical requirements, and delivery expectations.
- Anticipate and strategically solve for recruiting and project-related challenges.
- Collaboratively shape research plans and timelines that set appropriate stakeholder expectations.
- Handle operational tasks including preparing screeners, filtering and vetting candidates, gathering NDAs, scheduling sessions, supporting data collection, and approving participant compensation.
- Prepare internal deliverables for researchers and provide ad-hoc support throughout the delivery phase.
- Support multiple concurrent projects ensuring forward progress and keeping teams informed through clear and proactive communication.
- Follow research best practices and ensure end-to-end compliance with NDAs and consent forms, legal and regulatory requirements, and data privacy/retention requirements.
Experience we are looking for:
- 1+ years in the field of UX Research Operations, or similar research coordination role
- Confidence attending or leading calls, building rapport, and maintaining healthy stakeholder relationships
- Supporting or leading project planning, managing timelines, triple constraints, scope creep, etc.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and UX tools (User Interviews, Lookback, Qualtrics, UserTesting, etc.)

- Experience working in an agency setting
- Experience coordinating in-person onsite events
- Experience supporting international research
- Experience supporting inclusive design research (people with disabilities & assistive technologies)
