Preferred Qualifications:

DHS Trusted Tester, CPACC or similar certificationFamiliar with current assistive technology, accessible gaming, user experience (UX), inclusive design, and course development best practicesKnowledge of WAI-ARIA, UAAG, and ATAG specificationsKnowledge of ADA, Section 508, Section 504 and WCAG 2.0/2.1Experience with event coordinating, planning, or schedulingExperience with ServiceNow ticketing system or similar ticketing systems

Job Description:

Summary

Information Technology Services has a unique opportunity to champion digital accessibility on campus through the role of Digital Accessibility Specialist (Job Profile: Program Specialist I) .

  • Does identifying and removing barriers to implement IT accessibility laws, policies, and best practices excite you?

As a Digital Accessibility Specialist, you will connect ISU’s digital accessibility policy to content developers by:

  • Providing consultation to creators of course materials and campus resources
  • Coordinating training on accessible courses, websites, and digital media
  • Evaluating websites, applications, games, course materials, and other digital products for accessibility compliance
  • Partnering with vendors to test and troubleshoot digital accessibility issues
  • Researching and recommending new tools and resources

This position can work remote but must reside in the state of Iowa.

  • Responds to inquiries and issues, escalating to manager or higher level workers as appropriate
  • May lead projects of limited scope and complexity
  • May provide guidance to students
