About the team:

FIS is a company built on a history of acquisitions and integrating them with our customer needs. While the acquisitions have generated a lot of value, it has also created instances of fragmented user experiences. We are working to build a reusable and extensible customer experience to give our customers consistency, intuitive pathing, and predictability.

What you will be doing:

• Owning the conception and design of an enterprise-wide design system (think Google Material Design or Apple Human Interface Guidelines)
• Working closely with product, engineering, and marketing to build out the guidelines, repositories, and artifacts that will power industry-leading user experiences across the company
• Building a comprehensive view of all the design aspects across the company and ensuring the design system addresses them. This includes layout, color, typography, themes, mobile guidelines, indices, accessibility, and beyond
• Building trust in our users, connecting people to their money, and iterating to improve relationships constantly
• Educating and promoting the design system across the company, taking input from colleagues, and continually evolving to meet client and customer needs

What you will need:

• Deep familiarity with design systems and the code / capabilities that support them
• Collaborative streak that compels you to pull your product and engineering partners into the work alongside you
• Strong experience with the major design tools including Figma and techniques such as human factors, human-machine interfaces, physical design, etc.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to evangelize concepts, foster community and inspire others
• Ability to take feedback and use it to iterate on your work

Added Bonus if you have:

• Experience in the financial services world or highly regulated industries
• Experience building a design system
