ABOUT REVE
As a strategy and service innovation firm, we help people and organizations grow. We work with some of the world's most prominent organizations to design human-centered services, experiences, and entirely new businesses. We believe our people are our greatest asset, and each new team member shapes our culture and business. We are headquartered in Minneapolis and are working to transform the healthcare, educational, and financial services industries in our backyard and across the country.
THE ROLE
Rêve is looking for our next Design Research Intern to support creating human-centered research plans, engaging research participants, and participating in synthesis and reporting.
As one of the key projects you would support, you will work alongside a project team that is currently engaging the full workforce ecosystem to close the racial equity gaps that continue to persist in the Minneapolis–St.Paul metro area. The project focuses on employment disparities for Black and brown young adults aged 16 to 24.
Here’s what that may look like from a day-to-day perspective:
- Align: Meet with a project team lead to discuss capacity and determine daily priorities. Join a project team meeting to understand context and production needs for upcoming client sessions.
- Do: Support project teams to administrate across research platforms, collaborate in synthesizing and developing key reporting materials for use in upcoming stakeholder meetings and test key concepts using various methodologies.
- Learn: Soak in all the awesomeness that is client work at Rêve. Sit in on team meetings, participate in team banter, and contribute your awesomeness. We’re just as eager to learn from you as you are from us.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (Client + Internal facing)
As a Design Research Intern, you will be primarily responsible for:
- Design research: Assist in executing research approaches and exercises, manage recruitment and screening tasks based on various project team working sessions and stakeholder needs.
- Research execution: support moderation of research sessions.
- Storytelling: Leveraging empathy, context, and insights to help develop engaging stories primarily through client research report production.
- Technology: Ability to design for and manage primary research digital platforms.
- Testing and Iterating: Assist in concept test design and analysis, synthesis, and reporting findings for primary research activities.
MINDSET + SKILLS
We believe that to be successful, you will need to have the following:
- Passion for what we do, how we work with, and growing businesses—including our own.
- Using human-centered design to support and deliver meaningful strategic engagement across stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to share perspectives on research design and synthesis for a project that centers on the lived realities of Black and brown youth ages 16 - 24 in the Twin Cities Metro.
- Interest in and knowledge of opportunities and barriers to closing the racial equity gap in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area (could be through previous research, education, and/or lived experience).
- Proven track record of delivering results.
- Proficiency working with digital and creative storytelling tools is a plus (Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, Miro, etc.)
- Strong visual, verbal, and written skills.
- Rêve brand advocate.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience organizing and administering research projects and an understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Skills in communication and engagement with various stakeholders with the ability to clearly articulate user needs and design rationales.
- Working on a degree in Research, Marketing, UX Design, or related experience.
- Demonstrated passion for giving back and volunteering.
