K1 is seeking a summer ’23 Design Intern to join our Marketing team based in Manhattan Beach, CA. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in how ideas are brought to life. You will work closely with our marketing team to develop creative assets for a variety of mediums, including print, digital and social media. You will assist in designing and creating presentations for various stakeholders, and ensure presentations are visually appealing, informative and engaging. Successful completion of this internship may lead to extension of a full-time offer post-graduation.
Responsibilities:
- Design and produce marketing materials, including presentations, flyers, one-pagers, social media graphics and email campaigns
- Create custom illustrations and graphics to support marketing initiatives
- Work alongside K1’s marketing team to create presentations that communicate key business messages to internal and external stakeholders
- Assist in the creation of PowerPoint templates for internal use, updating aesthetics as needed
- Edit and enhance existing presentations for consistency and style
- Create infographics, charts and other visual aids to support content
- Help manage our brand guidelines and ensure consistent use across all channels
- Support the marketing team in various design tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled at a 4-year university program pursuing a degree in graphic design, visual communications or related field; junior-level standing (approaching final year of enrollment) preferred
- First-generation college students encouraged to apply
- Ability to work full-time for the duration of the 10-week summer internship on-site at the K1 office in Manhattan Beach, California
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
- Knowledge of graphic design principles, typography, color theory and composition
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
