Why This Job Is Important
As the Creative Group, Design, Intern, you will learn about working with cross-discipline teams to create effective, innovative visual designs that balance user, client and business needs across many channels. This includes ideation, concepting, sketching, mood boards, light UX and visual design for digital products and marketing initiatives. During your internship, you’ll learn about how we apply our human-centered design philosophy to solve real business problems. We are looking for someone with a curious mind, an inventive spirit and a love of learning something new.
What You Will Be Doing
- Designing for digital experiences (web, apps, social, digital ads) as well as mood boards, wireframes, concept sketches and presentation decks
- Learning to create design systems for both established brands and new ones
- Collaborating with strategists, other designers, writers, developers, marketers and clients to gain insight into how our human-centered design methods solve human and business problems
- Presenting ideas and work to internal teams
- Learning and developing skills that display Go Kart Labs level of high standards and taste
- Staying current on industry trends and technology
- Creating a final presentation (a retrospective of your work that you can show off in your portfolio)
What You're Good At
- You are curious, creative and inventive
- You have a passion for designing and making digital experiences, products and modern brands
- You’re competent in Sketch, Invision App and Adobe Creative Suite
- You have a strong intuition of what makes a great user experience
- You’re on top of cultural and digital trends
- You have the ability to think creatively and rationally at the same time
- You are driven, care about the craft of design, like collaboration and have attention to detail
Bonus Points
- Currently working towards or recently earned a Design degree in something relevant such as Graphic Design, Interaction Design or Human-Centered Design
- You’re already dabbling in digital
- An understanding of human-centered and user experience design
