The Opportunity:
As a Design Intern supporting the Policy, Advocacy and Communication (PAC) team you will be working on content pertaining to Vital Strategies public facing brand – including social media, campaigns, graphics – as well as helping to support the internal needs of the PAC and Design teams. You will join meetings, participate in brainstorms, and execute on projects in a supporting role, as well opportunities to take ownership of projects from ideation to execution.
Vital Strategies is in New York, NY. Internships are hybrid with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. This is a paid internship ($17/hour for undergraduate students and $20/hour for graduate students) up to 40 hours a week, for a duration of up to 10 weeks.
Responsibilities:
1. Support designers with projects needs such as type setting, image mulitpulation, content gather or research or creating presentations
2. Assist with the concepting, creation and execution of projects for Design and brand projects
3. Participate in meetings, brainstorms and other activities with the Design team and PAC team
4. Gain experience in utilizing time management skills to balance multiple projects while meeting timelines and deadlines.
5. Gain experience in communication skills by presenting design concepts to Design Team and project stakeholders
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience -
· Enrolled in an Undergraduate program for Design, in 3rd or 4th year of progam
Skills and Knowledge -
· Adobe CC Suite – InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop (AfterEffects + PremierePro a bonus)
· Basic knowledge of Figma/Sketch
· Basic knowledge (or Interest in) Instagram, Canva, Mailchimp and other social media platforms
· Basic knowledge with production and prepping files for web
