BASIC PURPOSE: The Experience Design team at Love’s is looking for an Associate UX Designer. We are a growing team that owns and promotes the “voice of customer” within our company. We provide visual and experience design solutions and research insights to departments across Love’s. As an Associate UX Designer on our team, you will contribute to the visual and interaction design for an in-house app and assist with design and research initiatives on various other projects and platforms. You will be exposed to all stages of our design and research process, collaborating with designers, researchers, developers, and product owners to build thoughtful, efficient, customer-centric solutions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of visual and interaction design principles. Animation and illustration skills are a plus.
- Creates customer-centric visual concepts and works collaboratively with others during ideation process. Ability to create visual solutions from “blank canvas” is a plus.
- Demonstrates ability to be a visual and verbal storyteller
- Has advanced understanding of design frameworks for interactive platforms. Familiarity with iOS Human Interface Guidelines, and Android Material Design is a plus.
- Effectively communicates conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with the Experience Design team, product owners and other stakeholders to design visual assets and content, with an understanding of how they contribute to end-to-end customer experiences
- Uses established design library to create consistent visual concepts, while also being able to provide fresh and innovative contributions when needed
- Utilizes design thinking, visual and interaction design to advocate for the user, while keeping business goals in mind
- Participates as a contributor and, at times, a leader with an interdisciplinary team that includes other designers, researchers, product managers, business analysts and software developers
- Creates wireframes, from basic sketches to fully annotated requirements documentation
- Develops interactive prototypes to be used for concept testing, usability testing, or as documentation of the user experience for development and product teams
- Conducts and documents User Interface Quality Assurance (UI QA) and works closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented accurately
- Assists with research needs, including usability testing, interviews, and surveys
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Design (Interaction, Graphic, Visual Communications, etc.), Psychology, HCI, or Computer Science
- 1+ years of design experience
- Proficient with industry standard design tools (Sketch, Figma, Zeplin, Adobe XD, Invision etc.)
- A portfolio showcasing your design work
- Mobile design experience is a big plus

- Strong verbal and oral communication skills, keen attention to detail, ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills, flexible, and self-motivated to take on additional tasks under pressure. Strong ability to develop and extend brands across multiple platforms. Customer-centric mindset.
