We are looking for a passionate Associate User Researcher to support research on some of the world’s best-known franchises. You will give a voice to players from around the world by collecting and analyzing hard data and be in the thick of a team effort to build great player experiences.


This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.


Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of user-studies and activities through the creation of research artifacts necessary for quality research
  • Learn and carry out research using several methods including usability testing, play-testing testing, focus groups, interviews, surveys, heuristic evaluations, card sorts, exploratory research, and field studies
  • Participate in user research activities such as research design, setup, breakdown, data coding and analysis, reporting of the consumers' experiences, and other research-related activities
  • Summarize research results directly to the research team for discussion and future analysis
  • Engage with participants during studies to ensure a positive experience and correct execution of studies
  • Provide clear and objective interpretations of observed user behaviors
  • Provide design feedback and suggestions based on observation, research, and expertise
  • Edit and craft reports as necessary
  • Maintain detailed records of studies and analysis


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in game design, game production, psychology, computer science, human factors, marketing, communications, market research, or related field
  • 1+ years experience in usability or user research on video games or similar products
  • Demonstrated contribution to 1 shipped product as a designer, producer, or researcher in video games, websites, or applications
  • High aptitude for gameplay or level design mechanics, and theory crafting
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (both written and verbal), must be comfortable working with participants
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Adaptable and quick learner that enjoys tackling a large variety of problems
  • Passion for understanding human behavior in video games

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Blizzard Entertainment player who demonstrates expert skill level in one or more games

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $27.64 - $51.14 Hourly. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
