Create effective, usable and satisfying user experiences (UX) within Technology applications. Extend User Interface (UI) designs for development based on existing concepts, using established brand and design guidelines. Actively participate in designing and executing UX research for technology applications, web sites and other digital experiences across various platforms including desktop, mobile and tablet at Ameriprise.Responsibilities

  • Create wire frames, design layouts and other project deliverables including design specs/layout requirements based on concepts and business requirements to illustrate the intended user experience. Delivery of the materials includes the authoring of Agile stories within JIRA.
  • Document requirements and author stories based on design deliverables based on the requirements of the defined project process - Agile or Waterfall focused on enabling the efficient delivery and build of the front end of the application.
  • Assist with creating test plans or authoring acceptance criteria including being responsible for the execution of user acceptance testing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Graphic Design; or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience required.
  • Knowledge of user-centered design process, web best-practices and relevant disciplines, including information architecture, interaction and visual design.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient prototyping and mockup skills to convey ideas and concepts.
  • Experience working with industry standard visualization tools and software (e.g. Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of design fundamentals such as color theory, composition, branding, typography and web design standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work in both waterfall and agile project processes.
  • Ability to interpret product requirements documents from a user-centered perspective.
  • Fundamental understanding of project management and business process management concepts.
