The Associate Product Designer is a critical role in our Product Development organization. This key contributor is an integral member of the User Experience (UX) organization and works directly with our product development teams to deliver best-in-class user experiences in our product suite. This includes partnering with product designers and product managers to understand customer behavior, identifying customer goals, and translating user needs into designs.

Our Marketplace product enables businesses to discover and connect with third-party software providers, APIs, and other service providers to integrate their services and capabilities into their own products or applications. It provides a hub for companies to find and implement solutions that enhance their offerings and streamline their operations. In partnership with a more senior designer, you are responsible for a product team’s UX needs, including Visual Design, Experience Design, Design System Contributions, Information Architecture, Writing, User Research and Analysis, and Prototyping. You are also a creative thinker and problem-solver dedicated to putting the user first by learning through rapid experiments and frequent customer feedback loops. Will work on clearly defined UX tasks (ie. design, research, content strategy) to achieve FY objectives. Receives active help from a more senior team member. Growing proficiency in research, design, and/or content strategy within some stages of SDLC and PDLC (software and product development lifecycles).

During the first six months, you will:

· Work closely with your Senior Product Designer partner and Product Design Lead to understand how your work fits into strategy and priorities within your UX squad

· Collaborate with UX team members and Product Owner(s) and to understand user needs

· Performs and delivers low to medium complexity UX work that resolves simple user problems. Works within the defined system.

· With guidance, participate in and lead user research sessions to help define user needs

· Turn conceptual ideas into elegant design solutions centered on our users' success and happiness at completing their jobs and connecting to our organizational strategy.

· Demonstrate curiosity and active membership in the UX community by participating in research and analysis or a design community initiative

· Build a working knowledge of our design system and incorporate its components into your design solutions

· Demonstrate partnership with engineering to ensure excellent communication and quality execution of every project, including solving for consistency

· Ship a product feature, learned from it, and iterated

· Be a consistent contributor to the user experience COP (Community of Practice)

· Effectively delivers on single steps in a user journey, or individual features, within a project.

· Participate and contribute to our collaborative environment with a willingness to share ideas, where open and honest feedback flourishes

· Develop T-shaped skill sets in yourself

· Grow in and contribute the UX skills needed to deliver effectively

· Live our culture and principles in executional and operational excellence.

Requirements

· 0 - 3 years of experience using design system patterns to create engaging, multi-platform user experiences

· Basic understanding of an agile development process and how UX iteration fits into that environment

· Familiarity and interest in delivering user experience in an enterprise SaaS web development environment

· Proven experience collaborating with a cross-functional team in a professional or academic setting

· Proven ability to work independently, deliver and iterate on valuable user experiences demonstrated by a strong body of work

· Conceptual understanding of the value of a design system and how it can be leveraged in product design delivery

· Skilled in one or more of the following areas and competent in another: Experience Design, Visual Design, Design Systems, or User Research

Preferred Skills:

· Familiarity with creating user experiences for E-Commerce Marketplaces or b2b SaaS App Marketplaces

· Familiarity with application programming interfaces (APIs) and Developer Platforms

· Proficient in the latest user experience tools, strongly preferred (Figma, Sketch, InVision, Mural, Whimsical)

· Bachelor’s degree in human computer interaction, design, engineering, or related field

· Has an understanding of front-end development (HTML/CSS)

Soft Skills:

· Comfortable communicating design decisions to non-designers and providing feedback to other designers

· Relentlessly curious about current market and technology trends, able to adapt accordingly

· Passionate about design, front end development, architecture and research

· Unflinching in your desire for the best user experience possible

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $60k - $117k/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
