Tapply is looking for a skilled designer to join our team as an intern. Our internship program has been highly successful over the last year and a half, primarily on the engineering team, and we are now expanding it to other departments, including the design team. This presents a great opportunity for you to apply your UI/UX design skills to an innovative product at a growing company.
We are proud that almost every intern who has completed their internship with us has either been hired by our company or gone on to work for well-known tech companies. If you are hired, you will join a team of talented, positive, and ambitious individuals who will help you grow as a professional.
The ideal Candidate: Your skillset and aptitude are important, but for an entry-level position like this, your mindset is the most important factor that will impact our decision. We are specifically looking for people who are organized, solution-oriented, tenacious, have a strong work ethic, and are eager to learn. Additionally, we want to hire someone who believes in our mission and would like to participate in helping us build a product that can change the world! For more information about what Tapply is all about, please see our company profile. If you are hired, we guarantee that you will experience tremendous growth as a designer, learn how to operate in a professional environment, and ultimately get the opportunity to learn how to build an early-stage start-up.
Product status: The beta version is currently live as a Progressive Web App (PWA) and is being used by around 70 beta testers, mainly for usability testing at this point. However, we expect to onboard a few hundred users in the next couple of weeks, which will result in more regular activity. We plan to launch the app in the app stores in September, but we have a long product roadmap that will need to be implemented after the launch.
This role: This role involves both product UX/UI design as well as occasional work on the landing page and other promotional materials. You will report to the CEO daily and shadow the other designer a couple of times per week. The tasks will change weekly or even daily, but the daily meeting will ensure that you always know exactly what you are supposed to be working on.
At the start, we prefer you to focus on doing things the right way, regardless of how long it takes. That way, when you do start running, you are hopefully running in the right direction and in an orderly fashion. As the Navy SEALs say, "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast." The point is that your focus for the first couple of weeks is to learn the correct protocols and ways of doing things. Then, the expectation is that your productivity will increase over time. The pace of that process varies among individuals, but it's usually a couple of weeks.
This internship is an excellent opportunity for recent Bootcamp or college graduates seeking an entry-level to intermediate position to jumpstart their careers. Our goal is to have a paid position available after the internship. In the past, this has often taken the form of a part-time paid position for 3-4 months, followed by a transition into full-time employment depending on performance and timing. You will be joining at the ground floor of something very exciting and new! Before applying at [Tapply.us], please check out our landing page.
